Lars Jan's photo of HOLOSCENES choreographer and performer Geoff Sobelle is on the cover of No. 26/Volume 7 of ARTPULSE Magazine. The magazine features Daniel Bonnell's extended interview with Lars about his practice and several of Early Morning Opera's major works, with a particular focus on HOLOSCENES.
HOLOSCENES will have its Middle Eastern premiere at the gates of New York University's Abu Dhabi's campus from Nov 16 - 19, 2016; 5-10pm daily. We will be hosted by our friends at the NYU Abu Dhabi Art Center in cooperation with the concurrent Abu Dhabi Art fair.
HOLOSCENES heads to Europe for the first time, and will be presented outdoors at Broadgate, adjacent to Liverpool Street Station in central London from Sept 1 - 4, 2016; 4-10pm daily. We've been invited by a colleague we most admire, Artichoke, to participate in the London's Burning Festival, commemorating the 350th anniversary of Great Fire of London.

It's no coincidence that our first two U.S. presentations will have been in Florida — the state with arguably the most to lose from sea level rise.
Following a successful presentation in Toronto
HOLOSCENES will be presented in the open air on The Ringling’s waterfront, the performance site itself — predicted to be underwater by the close of this century — plays an integral role in a visceral and involving engagement with vulnerability.
For the past ten years, the imagery of human figures at the mercy of surging waters has prompted conceptual artist Lars Jan to explore our baffling response to the devastating effects of climate change. It is the anticipation of catastrophe that informs Holoscenes, an exploration of our capacity for empathy and long-term thinking that presents movement art in a large aquarium wherein the performers are threatened and engulfed by rising waters.
Presented on the Bolger Campiello, performances will be ongoing, 12:00 PM until closing for more information visit: https://www.ringling.org/events/holoscenes
Join us at the end of March 2015 for a multi-day presentation of HOLOSCENES in Sarasota, on a site abutting the Gulf of Mexico predicted to be under water in 20 years.
On October 4, 2014 @ 7PM, HOLOSCENES will premier as a part of Toronto's Nuit Blanche Festival, which hosted around a million people last year. Think Art Mardis Gras. We'll be performing for 12 hours straight, until 7am on October 5th. Come and see us!
